Is DeGrom off IL?
we need to do a better job of policing this because de grom isn’t on IL anymore so that means this transaction shouldn’t be allowed until both are off IL because this affects the draft.
no because i haven't made any roster moves since he was on IL+. Only thing i have done is dropped guys and added my own roster/IL guys
I am allowed to move Garcia off my IL+ to roster while DeGrom or anyone else is still on IL. Just like if they were on my yahoo IL and i dropped someone or moved someone else to NA or IL
I am not advocating for changing this rule this season, irregardless of my team and current moves etc.
However I’ve expressed in the past my consideration for a rule similar to Jason’s above.
I don't understand what the issue is here. Garcia, just like deGrom, lost his IL status and Ted simply added Garcia to his roster.
So currently Ted is "over roster". He has at least deGrom on his preseason IL which means he can't pick anyone from FA draft, or sign any FAs or call up any prospects. He could however trade for a player and add the traded player to his team even while over roster.
Yahoo has operated this way ever since Ive been in the league in 2014. If you have a played stashed in IL and the player loses the IL status, Yahoo doesn't force you to open space immediately. Yahoo actually allows that player to stay in IL as long as you want. But the trade off is that Yahoo won't allow you to add any players until space is open. Our preseason IL and IL+ on the spreadsheet operates the exact same way. So Ted is within the rules.
But if anyone isn't a fan of these rules and wants to change them, you can propose changes in August for hockey league and next February for baseball league.
If you make a trade In the system, it wouldn’t allow it if you don’t move the IL player off it.
I thought we changed this last year. I was wrong or maybe it was a similar situation, but this needs to change.

i will propose a rule next year to clarify this because it’s not the correct way to proceed moving forward.
not seeing the issue here. I haven't made a trade, drafted, signed, or called up a prospect since Adolis and DeGrom were no longer listed day to day. The only thing I've done is cut people. Once someone went NA and i had a space open, i activated them. if you are saying players no longer on the IL can't sit there and must be activated the moment they are eligible then i think that's an unrealistic expectation.
I’m saying for FA draft, yes.
That would be my rule suggestion.
isn't that currently the situation that i cannot pick or add someone without the space? I have no picks btw so this doesn't pertain to me anyhow
