FA Draft Picks Will Have A 3 Hour Time Limit
I talked this over with Ted. We're going to make a commish decision to make the time limit for each FA draft pick be 3 hours.
FA Draft actually takes longer than prospect draft because towards end of prospect draft, guys are drafting off roster.
Time limit will be paused between 11am-1159pm east coast and 8am-9pm west coast
So since this all going really well maybe we should start a thread on some new topics. Anyone want to get into Iran? Abortion? The fact Canada can't win Gold in hockey anymore? #SledChamps
FYI time pause is 11pm ET to noon ET / 8pm PT to 9am PT. A little AM/PM switch there

Due to someone wanting a little more time to make FA picks, we're expanding the time limit for FA picks to 4 hours per pick, including 1st round. This will go into effect after Guards makes his pick at 1.5.
And new time limit pause will be between 11pm-11am west coast and 8pm-8am west coast.
To be clear, teams can absolutely still post their FA picks whenever if they're on the clock.
Sorry, forgot one more thing.
Season starts on Wednesday. It'd be ideal to open FA no later than Tuesday so we can have FA open for at least a few hours before freezing it at 1159pm Tue.
So that said, if we get towards the end of Sunday and we're still in let's say the 3rd round, it's possible we might have to shorten the time limit even more to get the draft done.

yes and we have to as comissioners. If the draft is moving too slow, it is our job to make executives decisions and adapt to the situation. So let's everyone get on it, make our picks so we don't have to change the pick time. 4 hours is more than reasonable on a weekend to pick.
and note that i am only for that short of a time for picking because of the timing situation. Normally i like the regular time we have to allow for trades and moves. We don't have that luxury so Chris and I talked about it and making these changes to accomodate the situation.
